International Women's Day

100th Anniversary

"Better because of the women who have made a difference
in our community"

Presented to:  Carol Parsons

Linking Generations Executive Director, Carol Parsons, was recognized for her contributions to the lives of seniors and youth in Strathcona County. She received an International Women's Day award at a ceremony on March 6, 2011.

Good Neighbour Award

Linking Generations was recently honoured to receive the Good Neighbour Award from State Farm Insurance in cooperation with the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation.  Linking Board Chairperson, Nick Arscott and Director, Noreen Soneff, proudly accept the Award.  This Award highlights the importance of Intergenerational Programs and the value of linking seniors and youth in our communities.  Thanks to the wonderful seniors and youth who open their hearts to make a connection with each other.

2008 Minister's Seniors Service Award from the Province of Alberta

Linking Generations was honored to receive the 2008 Ministers Seniors Service Award from the Province of Alberta for  “Outstanding commitment to improve the quality of life for Alberta’s seniors."

What an incredible honor for a small community-based program ~ proof of the impact these amazing seniors and students are having on each other.

The Award really belongs to the wonderful seniors and students who are sharing their hearts and making a difference in each other’s lives.

Linking Generations is being recognized in the community as the organizations where ‘kind souls connect.’  Our students also volunteer for a number of activities outside the umbrella of Linking Generations.  They volunteer to provide entertainment for the seniors over the Christmas season; some of them continue to visit with their seniors over the summer break, and some students are volunteering on their own in our various senior’s care facilities.
